Text Banking

In our mobile society, more and more end users are banking using “non-traditional” methods of accessing their accounts, such as online and mobile. End users want to have their financial information on demand, whenever and wherever they are, so that they can make informed financial decisions quickly. Consumers are on the move and they expect that their banking choices should reflect their lifestyle.

Ireland Bank now offers freeText Banking1 as a part of our mobile banking solution. This feature provides the ability to quickly and securely access your account information with a simple text.

Activate Text Banking

Please use the following instructions to enroll your mobile device in text banking.

  1. Login into your online banking (you must be enrolled in online banking to enroll in text banking) .
  2. Select Settings from the menu options on the left side of your screen.
  3. Under the Settings drop down, select Text Enrollment.
  4. Follow the instructions provided to enroll for text banking.

Use of the vanity code, BANKME (226563), which has been tested and registered with all carriers.

BAL List of account balances
HIST <account nickname> Request account history
XFER <account nickname1> <account nickname2> <amount> Transfer funds from account 1 to account 2
LIST Receive a list of available commands
HELP Receive a list of contact points for information on text banking
STOP Stop all text messages to the mobile device (for text banking and SMS alerts/notifications)
  1. There is no charge from Ireland Bank, but message and data rates from your communications provider may apply.
